21 Jul Years 9, 10 & 11 Lateral Flow Test 1
Before returning to school for the new academic year we are offering all students a Covid-19 Lateral Flow Tests (LFT) on the school premises before their first day back in school and face-to-face lessons the following day.
Parents will receive a letter with guidance on how to give parental consent so their children can be tested in school. However, we strongly encourage all students to come into school to take the LFT as a precaution to keep everyone in our community safe from coronavirus.
Students will be required to have a negative lateral flow test before attending their first day of face-to-face lessons in school the next school day after their first test. The testing process is not compulsory, however. Those students without consent to be tested will not be prevented from attending their first day of lessons in school. Those students that receive a positive LFT result must self isolate and book an NHS PCR test and if this result is negative they may return to school.
Students’ first test will be at our Asymptomatic Test Site (ATS) and will be a visit to the ATS only, via the Dyers Hall Road entrance. Students should arrive at the Dyers Hall Road entrance for their first test by attending at the time below and go back home once their test is complete to await their result by email:
- Year 9 students – 8:30am on Thursday 2nd September 2021
- Year 10 students – 11am on Thursday 2nd September 2021
- Year 11 students – 1:30pm on Thursday 2nd September 2021
A second lateral flow test will be conducted in school on Tuesday 7th September, 5 days after the first test. Following this second test in school, lateral flow test kits will be issued to students so testing can continue at home to identify asymptomatic cases and minimise virus transmission.
The first day of face-to-face lessons in school for Years 9, 10 & 11 is FRIDAY 3rd September.
Years 9, 10 & 11 students should arrive to school at 8:20am on Friday 3rd September 2021 for their first day.
