ICT

At Connaught we aim to provide students with ICT skills and capabilities necessary to help them become self-reliant and independent learners throughout their lives. We aim for every student to leave Key Stage 3 as autonomous computer users. This means that they would be equipped with the tools to appreciate when a task needs ICT, which tools to use and to be able to use them efficiently. At Key Stage 4 all student study a GCSE course in ICT that focusses on the applications of ICT in the workplace.

In 2007-8 Connaught students will experience the latest computer technolgies in other subject areas as our facilities are further improved. We aim that across the school curriculum students will be able to use ICT to:

  • access on-line learning materials

  • undertake Internet research and communicate via email

  • use findings appropriately

  • handle data

  • control devices

  • evaluate and improve work

  • present findings, either for homework, classwork or coursework, in a variety of media
