Key Stage 4
All students study this subject at Key Stage 4 because…
CCPSHE includes Citizenship, Careers Education, Personal, Social and Health Education. At Connaught all students have followed one lesson of CCPSHE per week since Year 7. The work continues in KS4 with a concentration on “Careers Education and Guidance”.
The KS4 course aims to help pupils use their knowledge, skills and understanding so that they fully appreciate the rights and responsibilities of being an active citizen. It also supports the girls in making informed decisions regarding the opportunities and experiences of adult life met in school and after school so that they are able to participate with confidence and as actively as possible in their future lives.
What will you study?
The programme includes such topics as: what is work, women at work, application forms, interview technique, financial awareness, sex and relationship education.
Year 10 pupils will participate in an “Interview Day” with employers. Year 11 pupils will also benefit from two weeks work experience, the “College Road show” involving local sixth form colleges visiting the school and guidance interviews with the Connexions personal advisor.
