Visit to Tossa de Mar, Spain 2010
On the 26th May 2010 (after much speculation due to volcanoes in Iceland) , a group of thirty five students from years 8, 9 and 10 and four members of staff travelled for a 5-day educational visit to Catalonia in Spain.
They stayed in a small town by the sea called Tossa de Mar, not far from the city of Barcelona. The party spent four nights in the Hotel Continental, where the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, especially the receptionist Luca!
During the stay the group spent a morning shopping on Las Ramblas in the centre of Barcelona. They went on to see the famous Cathedral 'La Sagrada Familia' built by Gaudí and later had lunch in the famous Parc Güell. The Connaught party visited the Salvador Dalí museum got caught in the rain! They went on to take photos of the impressive cathedral in Girona.
However, arguably the best day for the students and staff was the day spent at the Fort Aventura Theme Park. Mr Huber went on many rides whilst Ms Gooden enjoyed the refreshments that were on offer! (café con leche, pizza, tortilla y patatas fritas!)
Well done to all students for their excellent behaviour during the trip and an enormous thank you to staff who took part on the actual trip: Ms Gooden (visit leader) Ms Ball, Ms Bergame and Mr Huber. Thanks also to Mrs Connolly and everyone involved in assisting with the organisation of this visit. ¡Muchas gracias a todos!
