Festive Christmas Concert 2009

Over 100 students across all year groups at Connaught School for Girls were involved in performing at the annual Christmas Concert to a packed audience at the school on Tuesday 8th December 2009.
The Concert programme had a festive theme running throughout with many rousing performances of traditional Christmas carols and other well known Christmas songs by the all-years combined choir.

Directed by Mrs Rosemary Sanger, Head of Music at Connaught, the audience were treated to a wide variety of musical performances throughout the evening from the combined choir, smaller year group choirs, the string and woodwind groups, the school’s amazing steel band and from duets and soloists.
Each performance was greeted with great applause and appreciation but the star performer of the night was Year 9 student Camara Fearon. Camara participated in the woodwind group and choir and received a rapturous ovation for a beautiful solo performance, singing ‘O Holy Night’.
Mrs Ann Betts, Headteacher, thanked all the school staff and students involved for a very enjoyable evening adding her best wishes to everyone for a very happy Christmas and New Year.
