Fatima Olyabek - Rotary Chef Finalist!

Two students from Connaught School for Girls; Khadeejah Undre and Fatima Olyabek took part in the area heats of the Rotary Chef Competition, held at Caterham High School on 11th February 2009. The standard of the competition was very high with over 20 schools taking part in the competition. Everyone at Connaught is thrilled that Fatima came second and is through to the District final that will be held at the prestigious Westminster Kingsway College on Saturday 21st February 2009. Fatima wowed the judges with her roasted sweet potato, red onion and goats cheese quiches with a creative mixed salad. Khadeejah can be proud of her efforts too; griddled stuffed chicken served with dauphinoise potatoes in gruyere cheese and green beans.

The Rotary Chef Competition aims to encourage young people to:
- Develop cookery skills
- Develop food preparation skills
- Consider healthy eating options
- Prove their organisational and planning skills
- Prove their ability to cope in a demanding situation.
This is a great opportunity for Fatima and we wish her good luck in the next round.
