Borough Athletic Championships

On Friday 2nd July 2010, Ms Gibcus and Mr Russell accompanied 13 Key Stage 3 students from Connaught School for Girls to the Lee Valley Stadium for the annual borough athletics championships. Although the squad was formed from a small group of girls they proved to be a very successful team. Connaught's most successful athlete was a year 9 student who finished with two gold medals by winning the 800m and as part of the winning year 9 4x100m relay team along with one silver medal as runner-up in the high jump.

Further success for Connaught came from gold medals in the year 7 200m sprint, the year 9 discus throw and the 800m race. Silver medals were awarded to Connaught althetes in the year 7 300m with bronze medals for the students that competed in the year 8 100m and the year 9 shot put. Congratulations to to all the girls that competed and making it such a successful day for Connaught.
