2009 GCSE Exam Results

We are delighted with our GCSE results they are the school’s best ever examination results, for the fifth consecutive year.

5 A* - C grades achieved by 74% of the whole year group.

• Past figures:- 2008: 72%, 2007: 67%, 2006: 59%

5 A* - C grades including English & Maths achieved by 63% of the whole year group

• Past figures:- 2008: 62%, 2007: 57%, 2006: 48%

1 A* - C grade in a Language achieved by 74% of the whole year group

• Past figures:- 2008: 73%, 2007: 68%, 2006: 57%

Other Languages

• AS level Urdu 4 B grades and 1 C grade
• Community Languages - some Yr 10 pupils took GCSEs in Persian, Russian and Turkish : All achieved A* grades
• Fast track GCSE French : 29 Year 10 pupils took the exam after a one year course. 100% of the group achieved A* - C grades. This included 5 A* and 8 A grades.

Classics

• 16 Year 9 pupils who studied Classics after school gained A* - C grades, including 1 pupil with an A* grade & 3 pupils with A grades.

Mrs Ann Betts, Headteacher said “the girls were focussed and worked very hard with the staff to achieve these results. I am very fortunate to have such a team of committed and dedicated staff who work very hard with the students”.
