Best Ever GCSE Results in 2008!

Students and staff at Connaught School for Girls are celebrating the news of their GCSE results for 2008. The school recorded its best ever results with 72% of students achieving at least five GCSEs at grades A* to C, which is a 5% rise on last year’s results. The school is also delighted that the percentage of students achieving five or more GCSEs at A* to C including English and maths has increased to 62%, a rise of 5% on last year.

Mrs Ann Betts, Headteacher said “We are absolutely delighted with this year’s results. The students were very focussed and determined to do well, staying late for revision sessions and attending classes on Saturdays and in the holidays.The staff are dedicated to the students achieving their best and these results are due to everyone working together and in the end all the hard work paid off.”

There were a number of Connaught students who achieved exceptional GCSE results in 2008, including:

  • Lucy Verdon (10 A* and 2 A grades)
  • Chidi Onyeche(9 A* and 2 A and 1 B grades)
  • Jaccaidi Hypolite-Dyer (7 A*, 3 A and 2 B grades)
  • Summaiya Undre (5 A* and 6 A grades)
  • Fariha Alauddin (5 A* and 5 A grades)
